Atlas is looking to recruit a Claims and Risk Assessment Assistant in North Carolina to help deal with the growth we are experiencing. The successful candidate will work with a team that services multiple types of captive insurance companies. General Responsibilities and Duties: Summary: To assist with the claims processing, risk assessment and underwriting process for a diverse portfolio of captive insurance companies, as well as the formation of new captives by identifying and evaluating the risks of new clients and assigning or developing appropriate coverage for those risks. This will involve claims handling, attending risk assessment calls with new prospects, gathering client data, drafting underwriting reports and communicating with independent actuaries.

The Claims and Risk Assessment Assistant will also be responsible for producing and issuing new policies, processing renewals, communicating with Account Managers regarding policy, coverage and premium issues as well as various business development and administrative functions, including liaison with TPAs, actuaries and other third-party providers, all while providing excellent client servicing.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Process claims for captive insurers managed by Atlas, communicating with the Third Party Administrators (TPAs), reviewing decisions regarding coverage and assisting in determining the legitimacy of claims, calculating the claim values, issuing confirmations and acknowledgements as well as related documenting, tracking, filing and data entry functions
• Policy drafting and issuance, drafting of master policy wording for new coverages, generation of annual polices, review of annual renewal questionnaires and accompanying insured financials, drafting and issuing of risk assessment reports, tracking and filing functions
• Identification of risks and design of insurance programs
• Assist with business development functions including holding risk assessment calls, performing reviews of existing commercial policies held by proposed insureds, identifying gaps in coverage, analyzing and evaluating risks, developing insurance programs and acting as liaison with actuaries
• Assist with new client engagement and license applications
• Communicate with independent actuaries who develop rates and premiums for the captive insurance programs
• Assist with the administrative functions for the team
• Assist in preparations for attendance at conferences and with business development marketing endeavors
• Complete special projects and other tasks assigned

Qualifications and preferred skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The position will suit an insurance professional with significant experience of property & casualty coverage, policies and forms, who has the imagination to look beyond traditional lines. The successful candidate should have a broad knowledge of insurance markets, policies, coverages and claims and must align with Atlas’s core values by being competent, capable and creative, enjoy having fun, have a “can do” attitude and act with integrity.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and / or
• An insurance professional designation (CPCU, CIC, CRM, ARM, CISR, etc...)
• Hold a NC P&C Agent’s license
• A minimum of five years of experience of property & casualty coverage, policies and forms
• Experience with captives is preferred



CAPTIVE INSURANCE ACCOUNT MANAGER

Atlas is looking to recruit another Account Manager in our Charlotte, NC office to help deal with the growth we are experiencing. The Account Manager will work with a team that manages multiple types of captive insurance companies across multiple states. Prior experience in the insurance industry is required, and experience in the captive industry is preferable. A relocation package may be provided.

General Responsibilities and Duties: Summary: To manage a diverse portfolio of captive insurance companies, with preparation of timely financial reporting, regulatory filing requirements, premium taxes and liaison with auditors, actuaries and other third-party providers while providing excellent client servicing.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve as account manager for an assigned group of captive insurers, handling the financial, corporate secretarial and other operating functions of each captive including oversight of the insurance program
• Prepare financial statements including all supporting working papers, reconciliations and other management information reports
• Perform regulatory compliance, including annual report filings and premium tax filings to the captives’ domiciliary States
• Act as liaison with third party service providers, including auditors, actuaries, tax preparers, investment managers and attorneys
• Assist with new client license applications
• Complete special projects and other tasks assigned

Qualifications and preferred skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. An individual must align with Atlas’s core values by being competent, capable and creative, enjoy having fun, have a “can do” attitude and act with integrity.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• CPA or equivalent relevant qualification required
• Minimum two years insurance accounting experience required
• Experience managing captives, including RRGs, is preferred
• Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
